Biography
Zainal Abidin has been practicing law since 2002 and has built more than two decades of experience as a litigator, legal strategist, and legal advisor. He earned his law degree from the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, and later completed a Master of Law and Development at Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, Australia.
Throughout his career, he has served as a lawyer, legal researcher, and trainer in several prominent institutions including ELSAM and YLBHI. His professional experience spans courtroom advocacy, legal drafting, client representation, public interest litigation, and policy development.
As co-founder of Datum Indonesia, he expanded his expertise into technology-related legal issues including digital rights, technology regulation, cybersecurity law, and internet freedom.
