Legitima Law Firm Attorneys Assist the Victim Throughout the Protection Process
On Friday, 26 July 2024, attorneys Febi Yonesta and Asif Abdillah from Legitima Law Firm, together with Ratumas Amaraduhita from Kartika & Rouly Law Firm, provided legal assistance to a victim of a Sexual Violence Crime (TPKS) during an examination conducted at the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).
This assistance was provided as part of the follow-up process to a protection application previously submitted by the victim through legal counsel to LPSK.
Ensuring the Victim’s Rights Are Protected During the Examination Process
The presence of legal counsel aimed to provide legal support to the victim while ensuring that all of the victim’s rights remained protected throughout the examination process.
In practice, the role of legal counsel was limited to providing assistance and support during the initial stages of the process. Counsel did not participate directly in the psychological examination conducted by LPSK, thereby preserving the independence and objectivity of the assessment.
Psychological Examination Conducted by LPSK
As part of the protection process, the victim underwent a psychological assessment conducted by an LPSK psychologist. The examination lasted approximately two hours and was intended to evaluate the victim’s psychological condition as part of the protection measures requested.
This assessment constitutes an important stage within the victim protection mechanism provided by LPSK.
Restitution Assessment for the Victim
In addition to the psychological examination, LPSK’s Restitution Division conducted an assessment regarding the victim’s restitution application.
The application submitted by the victim included not only requests for protection and psychological support but also the victim’s right to seek restitution in accordance with the applicable legal framework. Accordingly, the assessment carried out by the Restitution Division formed part of the evaluation process for that application.

Legal assistance plays a crucial role in helping victims understand their rights when navigating legal proceedings and available protection mechanisms. Through appropriate legal support, victims can gain access to the information, protection, and assistance necessary throughout the handling of their case.
